Everything has its own life cycle, and during this cycle, certain failures occur due to the steps of its use and operation, also known as the period of decline, and bearings are also like this. Given this, due to space limitations, the following experts will introduce the general faults that exist in outer spherical bearings.

1. Fault form

(1) Difficulty in bearing rotation and heating;

(2) Abnormal noise during bearing operation;

(3) Vibration generated by external spherical bearings;

(4) Peeling and cracking of the inner race;

(5) Peeling and cracking of the outer seat ring;

(6) Indentation occurs on the raceway and rolling body of the outer spherical bearing.

2. Fault cause analysis

(1) Before assembly, the inspection was not thorough. Before assembly, the outer spherical bearing should be cleaned and carefully checked for rust, burrs, scratches, and cracks on the inner and outer races, rolling bodies, and cages of the bearing; Check whether the clearance of the outer spherical bearing is appropriate, whether it rotates freely and smoothly, and whether there is any sudden jamming phenomenon; Simultaneously check the size, roundness, and cylindricity of the shaft diameter and bearing seat hole, as well as whether there are burrs or unevenness on their surfaces. For the bearing seat, it is required to leave a gap of 0.1mm~0.25mm between the joint surface of the bearing cover and the bearing base and the outer circular surface of the outer race to prevent the gap reduction and accelerated wear caused by the phenomenon of "pinching" at the "shoe mouth" on both sides of the outer seat, which can lead to premature bearing damage.

(2) Improper assembly. Improper assembly can lead to various failure forms of the outer spherical bearing mentioned above, as well as another situation - improper fitting: the inner hole of the outer spherical bearing is matched with the shaft using a base hole system, and the outer circle of the bearing is matched with the bearing seat hole using a base shaft system. The shaft and bearing inner race of centrifugal pumps, centrifuges, reducers, motors, and centrifugal compressors that operate under normal load conditions are matched with j5, js5, js6, k5, k6, m6, and the bearing seat hole and bearing outer race are matched with j6, j7. The rotating seat ring (the inner race of most outer spherical bearings is a rotating seat ring, the outer race is not a rotating seat ring, and a small number of bearings are the opposite) usually adopts an interference fit, which can prevent the seat ring from rolling and sliding on the mating surface of the shaft diameter and bearing seat hole under load.
